Some of the rules to visit the cave are:
- You can visit the cave by kajak on a guided tour (1 guide on 6 visitors);
- You are not allowed to walk on the beach inside the cave;
- ⁠It is not allowed to swim into the cave.

Walk the 12 km. 7 hanging valleys trail along our beautiful coastline. If you walk only one way from Praia da Marinha in the east to Praia Vale de Centianes it is about 6 km. The trail includes a variety of beaches and caves to explore. You can also start from Montinho; walk to Benagil and then head for either direction. The trail includes many signs on posts or painted rocks to guide the way.

Visit the Monchique mountains for some scenic hikes and have a look at the natural spa in the village of Monchique.

You can make a detour on the way and walk the newly built hanging bridge in the valley of the little town of Alferce.

Go for some horse riding on a scenic trail near Lagos.

Visit the Alfanzina lighthouse only 5 minutes from Montinho.
In high season every wednesday afternoon there are 3 guided tours.
Starting from 2:30 / 3:30 and 4:30 pm. The tour is free of charge.
The navy operator will show you the machinery of the lighthouse. You can climb several -small- stairs all the way up to the actual light.
And of course enjoy a great view on the Algarve coastline.
