







Make a trip to one of the towns nearby Montinho. All within easy reach, from 5 to 25 car-minutes away.

Drive to the south and you will find Benagil with its famous cave.
Only 900 meters from our villa.

Carvoeiro can be found west of Montinho.
It will take you some 10 to 15 minutes to get there by car.
Walking will take you around an hour.

You can reach Ferragudo via the coastal road in 20 car minutes.
It is relatively unspoiled; with luck you'll find some authentic fisherman in the little harbour.
Walk up the little streets to the church on top and you will have a great view on Portimao across the river.

In Portimao you can find a lot of bars and lounge clubs along the big sandy beaches.
It has also a big marina where you can admire sailing yachts.
You can drive here in 20 minutes or go to Ferragudo and take the little ferry which will take you over the river Arade for E 5,-

Lagos is an old town with big marina, beaches and a pittoresk centre.
Stroll through the small streets of the centre, have lunch in one of the many restaurants or visit the local market place.

Sagres is the most south-westerly point of Europe.
On a hot day you will always encounter a cool breeze here.

Porches is the next town to the east of Montinho.
Praya de Señora Rocha is worth a visit with its little chapel on the rock.
It will take you some 10 to 15 minutes to get there by car.

Silves was the former capital of the Algarve. You can visit the old Moorish castle on top of the hill.

When you like strolling down a boulevard drive to the east and you'll find Armaçãu de Pera.

Loulé is a good destination for a day trip. It offers a mix of historic sites and Portuguese culture.
It also has the largest covered market in the Algarve. You'll find from fresh fish to al kind of handicrafts made by locals.

Just 10 car-minutes easterly of Faro you wil find Olhão. A small fisherman town with a marketplace at the harbour.
Also worthwhile your visit are the car-free islands with their vast beaches and small beach houses. You can reach the islands by ferry or water-taxi.

Drive in the direction of Spain and you will encounter picturesque Tavira on the way.
